As a Specialist, Biorefining Feedstock & Product Portfolio Development for St1 Oy. You will be working in Biorefining Business Development & Production unit where we focus on biorefinery business development by combining technical and commercial understanding and knowledge enabling transition of our value chain towards a more sustainable one.

As a Specialist, Biorefining Feedstock & Product Portfolio Development you would be working with the development and commercialization of lignocellulosic bioproducts focusing on lignin. Your task would be to coordinate lignin product development and commercialization projects. You would be actively co-operating with both internal and external stakeholders (partners, research organizations, universities and other networks) and managing collaboration partnerships over the value chain. Your task also includes active market and research environment follow-up, identifying new business opportunities and evaluation of commercial potential and technical feasibility of different product applications.

Specialist, Biorefining Feedstock & Product Portfolio Development, we are looking for has

• professional experience and knowledge in the field of chemistry and/or biorefining

• strong understanding of bioproduct development and commercialization process

• high interest in bio- and circular economy

• chemical understanding of lignocellulosic materials especially lignin

• strong project management, communication and presentation skills

• flawless written and verbal communication skills in English

In addition to the qualifications above, you should have an innovative and open attitude as well as excellent co-operation skills. You also have the ability to see and find the best ways to maximize the product value for customers through product development. You are self-driven with the ability to independently identify, articulate and pursue objectives in line with St1 biorefining strategic priorities. You have a master’s degree from a relevant field. Expertise on lignin is highly appreciated. The ability to communicate fluently in Finnish is beneficial.

This is fixed-term position (maternity leave) until end of December 2022.
