We are now looking for a Project Technology Manager to join BASF and their Harjavalta’s new battery chemical production site. The site is under construction now and will begin its operation soon, and you will be responsible for managing the site’s Project Technology activities. The position is permanent, and the start date should be as soon as possible but latest at the beginning of summer 2021. We are a smoke-free workplace.
As a Project Technology Manager you will be the primary contact for product (precursor) related investment projects and responsible for raw material questions, logistics, technology related safety and process equipment aspects.
Project Technology Manager works in close co-operation with the production and process technology teams to assure best available technology use in investment projects. The role includes elements of manufacturing technology, equipment expertise, process automation and standardization, cross functional team participation, project management, strategy development/implementation, and capital planning/implementation/startup support.
The Project Technology Manager supports the investment project organization in equipment and vendor selection, capital projects coordination, from scope to engineering, construction and from commissioning to start up. The Project Technology Manager is primarily responsible for supporting, developing, implementing, and improving key technologies within investment projects.
We expect you to have
- Master’s degree or above (chemical- or mechanical engineering and technology preferred)
- Several years of manufacturing/technology experience
- Exceptional communication skills (written and oral)
- Experience leading and coordinating process improvement and/or capital projects
- Excellent command of English.
Proficiency in the Finnish language is considered an advantage.
We also appreciate the ability to work on multiple projects in multifunctional teams independently.
This role offers you an opportunity to be a part of a unique chemical production site. You will take part in developing BASF’s site’s actions and share your knowledge within their global organization which will also support you in your role. BASF will also help you to relocate near Harjavalta should you consider moving from elsewhere.
