We are now looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join BASF and their Harjavalta’s new battery chemical production site. The site is under construction now and will begin its operation in 2022 and you will be responsible for managing the site’s QC and QM activities. The position is permanent, and the start date should be as soon as possible but latest at the beginning of 2021. We are a smoke-free workplace.
As a QA Manager you are responsible for setting up, managing and leading an analytical QC laboratory in which quality inspections of raw materials, intermediates and products are done. Your laboratory team will consist of one laboratory engineer and five lab technicians. You will also manage the contracted analysis service agreements as well as develop them and other related operations. Quality audits are also part of your role.
We expect you to have previous experience in analytical chemistry and/or quality assurance activities in both QC and QM, preferably from chemical/mining/battery material process industry. You should also have good knowledge and skills in ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 requirements and should be able to work as a quality management expert and able to coordinate quality management system development within the site. We also expect you to have a master’s level degree in analytical chemistry or in another related field. You are fluent in written and spoken Finnish and English. German language skill is beneficial.
This role offers you an opportunity to be a part of a unique chemical production site where you are a key player in setting up the quality control laboratory and managing it later on. You will take part in developing BASF’s site’s actions and share your knowledge within their global organization which will also support you in your role. BASF will also help you to relocate near Harjavalta should you consider moving from elsewhere.
