We are now looking for a Production Manager to join BASF and their Harjavalta’s new battery chemical production site. The site is under construction now and will begin its operation soon, and you will be responsible for managing the site’s production activities. The position is permanent, and the start date should be as soon as possible but latest at the beginning of 2021. We are a smoke-free workplace.
As a Production Manager you are responsible for managing and developing the production of the site. You will join the site in its first phase of set-up and ramp-up which will later be followed by phases two and three. As the site is up and running your responsibilities will also include, for example, implementing production targets, production planning, QSEH activities, managing warehouse operations, services, and products, as well as defining, recording, and controlling production-related KPIs. You will be the direct line manager for production engineers and the logistics manager, who each have their own teams.
We expect you to have previous experience in production related activities in process industry, preferably from chemical/mining/battery material process industry. You should also possess great people leading skills. We also expect you to have a master’s level degree in chemical engineering or in another related field of engineering. You are fluent in written and spoken Finnish and English. German language skill is beneficial.
This role offers you an opportunity to be a part of a unique chemical production site where you will play a key role in the ramping up of the production. You will take part in developing BASF’s site’s production and share your knowledge within their global organization which will also support you in your role as a Production Manager. BASF will also help you to relocate near Harjavalta should you consider moving from elsewhere.
